The Art and Energy and PEC teams enjoying Sunlight Gathering at Union Street Party, September 2025

Sunlight Gathering is our latest solar artwork, inviting people to sit, connect, and celebrate creativity and the magic of solar energy and spark conversations about the importance of solar power.  

Co-created with Plymouth Energy Community and members of the local community through the PEC Pals network and supported by the PEC staff and volunteer team.

This unique collaborative artwork uses interactive pads in the floor and seat to trigger lights and is charged through a unique etched recycled solar panel. The artwork is adorned with hand-crafted, embossed decorations co-created with PEC and the local community


Sunlight Gathering started with ideas formed from the general public at the Hope Festival in June 2025. We debuted the artwork with PEC at the Union Street Party in Plymouth in September 2025. Most recently you might have had the opportunity to interact with Sunlight Gathering at Arts University Plymouth and Plymouth Arts Cinema in November 2025.
