Call for submissions:  New book project exploring energy, culture and the power of imagination

On a day like today we just need to look forward…
culture | imagining | energy | creativity

Art and Energy are pleased to share that we are a partner in the development of a new book exploring energy and creativity from art.earth Books with Regen.

Ten years ago, art.earth convened Feeding the Insatiable at Dartington Hall — a gathering exploring creative responses to our apparently insatiable need for energy. A decade on, this new book revisits that moment and asks:

How do we imagine energy futures now?
How do we tell urgent climate stories in a fractured political landscape?
What role do artists, engineers, activists, communities and thinkers play?

This is an open call for contributions to join us in shaping a new publication on energy futures

We welcome proposals (400-word abstracts) from those engaging intellectually, creatively, practically or theoretically with energy and society — including poetic, speculative, experimental and interdisciplinary work.

We are less interested in definitive ‘solutions’ and more interested in narrative, exploration and dialogue.

Deadline for submissions: 9 May 2026
Publication planned: November 2026
