Earth Day celebrations

Celebrating Earth Day in Plymouth

Art and Energy were delighted to be invited to deliver an Earth Day celebration event for Nudge Community Builders at The Plot on Union Street in Plymouth.

We spent a wonderful afternoon inspiring textile creativity using a range of materials - our visitors were encourage to make a moss inspired pom-pom and then attach it to our massive mossy carpet. The moss carpet is our new mass participation co-created artwork designed to inspire positive action for the climate emergency. We are using clever electrical wire and audio technology to record messages about positive climate actions which play when the mossy pompoms are touched.

Thank you to Art and Energy’s friend Amy Whittingham for joining us on the day and to everyone who came along and talked to us and joined in with the Earth Day creativity.

Celebrating Earth Day in Exeter

Art and Energy’s Chloe popped along to the Earth Day celebrations hosted in Exeter, our How to Bury the Giant project has inspired a session looking closely at mosses and also to make a mini mossy jam jar terrarium.

Chloe was delighted to see on display an artwork we had the pleasure of creating with Pinhoe residents in partnership with Significant Seams. The Pinhoe People and Places Project identified the walking routes, green spaces and stories that residents most value and together they co-created a quilted map based on this engaging evidence of community priorities.
