A celebration of our peatland connections

Love your peatlands, feel their strength, experience their heritage with Peat-Fest South-West.

From Somerset and Dorset, Dartmoor and Exmoor down to Cornwall, everyone was invited to experience the power of peatlands and celebrate why they are so special.

Peat-Fest South-West was a region-wide celebration raising awareness of peatland heritage through youth-focused events, intergenerational skills exchange, creative activities, and digital storytelling. Through the summer and autumn of 2025, we created curiosity-generating, hands-on, fun-filled Bogtastic events, enjoying our boggy peatlands as special nature-rich places, necessary for all of life facing climate change and ecological decline.

Partnering up with RE-PEAT and collaborating with a diversity of peatland partnerships, youth based and cultural organisations, their volunteers, and young people; we co-created activities and events for everyone to enjoy.

Together, we encouraged relationships between younger people and their older peers in the future care for peatlands.

The legacy of Peat-Fest South-West continues; listen to our Bogcasts or Broadcasts, share our young person’s Manifesto or get out and about in your local peatlands with our engagement resources.
