From Peat to Pipe - introducing our new artwork

Art and Energy have been busy designing, creating and building our new artwork From Peat to Pipe.

Inspired by our new project Our Land Flows, this new artwork illustrates the water cycle and the flow of water from peaty landscapes and moors to the our taps in our homes. Illustrated with a watery moorland landscape painting, real mosses to enjoy and filter the water and electronics featuring a dancing tardigrade!

We were pleased to install From Peat to Pipe at Market Hall, Plymouth for a week in August as part of our week-long residency sharing Our Land Flows with visitors. People of all ages enjoyed using their own energy to power the foot pump and see the water flow through the artwork.

From Peat to Pipe encourages people to ask themselves ‘where does my water come from?’ and ‘how do I look after water?’.
