Plymouth Electron Microscopy Centre

Art and Energy are excited to share the news they have received funding to work with the Plymouth Electron Microscopy Centre (PEMC) at the University of Plymouth.

We will be linking this work to our How to Bury the Giant project and working with PEMC to take extreme close up images of moss species and in particular sphagnum moss species from Dartmoor. We hope these images will shine a new light on bryophytes and their delicate structure.

Moss species host a wide variety of tiny microscopic animals such as nematodes and tardigrades. We may be able to capture some of these species of fauna in our electron microscope photographs too.

We’ll share the images as soon as we have them!
