Volunteers needed for our November exhibition

Art and Energy are seeking volunteers to support our upcoming exhibition: How to Bury the Giant – A Retrospective from Art and Energy, The Mossy Carpet Grand Finale, and a celebration of our peatland connections with Peat-Fest South-West.

Taking place at Market Hall in Plymouth, our exhibition runs from Monday 17th to Sunday 23rd November. We are also seeking volunteer help to set up the exhibition on Sunday 16th and take everything back down on Monday 24th.

In preparation we also need to get all 75+ metres of The Mossy Carpet ready for display and are holding three volunteer sewing sessions at Market Hall in early November.

Sewing session dates and times:

  • Friday 7th, Wednesday 12th & Friday 14th November: Sewing and Stitching session to finish The Mossy Carpet artwork: 10am-1pm each day. Everyone welcome but places are limited so please book to join us.

Exhibition dates and times:

  • Sunday 16th November: Exhibition set up day (closed to the public): 10am-5pm

  • Monday 17th: Final set up (10am-12noon) and exhibition open: 12noon-5pm

  • Tuesday 18th: Exhibition open: 10am - 5pm

  • Tuesday 18th: Private View event: 5pm-8pm

  • Wednesday 19th: Exhibition open: 10am - 5pm

  • Thursday 20th: Exhibition open: 10am - 5pm

  • Friday 21st: Exhibition open: 10am - 5pm

  • Saturday 22nd: Exhibition open: 10am - 5pm plus Our Peatland Connections - final celebration for Peat-Fest South West: 1pm-3pm

  • Sunday 23rd: Exhibition open: 10am - 5pm

  • Monday 24th: Exhibition take down day (closed to the public): 10am-5pm

Any time you can spare on these dates would be very much appreciated, there will be a variety of tasks to help with including:

  • Meet and greet to welcome visitors

  • Supporting our science based moss display

  • Helping visitors engage with our interactive solar artworks

  • Manning our pop-up shop

  • Encouraging visitors to engage with our ‘call to action’ poster wall

  • General visitor support
