Art and Energy at Sail GP Plymouth

Art and Energy are excited to share the news that we will be involved with this year’s Sail GP event in Plymouth, taking place on Saturday 30th & Sunday 31st July.

We’ll be supporting Plymouth City Council and Plymouth Sound National Marine Park to deliver a creative engagement activity which connects participants and visitors throughout the Sail GP weekend.

The resulting artworks will raise awareness of Plymouth City Council's Climate Action Plan and will invite people to explore the blue/green themes in Plymouth, understanding how low carbon energy, energy efficiency, enhancing green space and carbon sequestering marine plants are part of our journey responding to the climate emergency.

Participants in the wider school and community engagement projects plus visitors to the Sail GP weekend will be invited to add to a large shared canvas depicting Plymouth Sound. They will be encouraged to share their hopes for the future and reflections on the importance of Plymouth Sound.

Come and find us on Plymouth Hoe in the Sail GP Fan Village and waterfront spectator area on Saturday 30th & Sunday 31st July. The Fan Village is open from 12 noon - 6pm and the racing is approximately between 2-3.30pm. Purchased tickets are required for this area and children go free with an accompanying adult.
