Our Land Flows…from Peat to Pipe

Art and Energy will be running a drop in day of activities at Market Hall, Plymouth on Saturday 22nd August.

We’ll be sharing activities linked to mosses, peatlands, water, creativity, maps and Dartmoor.

There will also be the opportunity to talk to our team about the history of water on Dartmoor and share your knowledge with us.

These sessions will be free of charge and everyone is welcome to join us.

Drop in any time from 11am - 2pm, you can book a place to join us or turn up on the day.

Our Land Flows…from Peat to Pipe

Art and Energy will be running a drop in public workshop and information sharing session on Wednesday 19th August, 2-3pm. We’ll be sharing activities linked to mosses, peatlands, water, creativity, maps and Dartmoor.

Talk to our team about the history of water on Dartmoor and share your knowledge with us!

There will also be the opportunity to see our In Moss and Moor 360 film in the dome at Market Hall, Plymouth free of charge from 1-2pm.

The workshop follows our learning and networking session for land managers, the farming community and other interested adults.

The workshop and film showing are open to all and children are welcome.

Our Land Flows…from Peat to Pipe

Join Art and Energy and our partners for a supported learning opportunity with talks and discussions plus a few speakers for short presentations and questions ranging from farm management and leat history to more strategic headwater peatland management.

11am for refreshments and networking

11.30am - 1pm for talks, discussions and presentations.

Speakers include:

• Bex Blades, Farmer - Trowlesworthy Warren, Dartmoor.

• Andy Crabb, Archaeologist, Dartmoor National Park.

• John Howell, Land manager, Lukesland, Harford Moor

• Helen Bruce, Communications Officer, Dartmoor Preservation Association.

• Liza Oxford, Natural Environment Principal, Building Resilience in Communities (BRIC), Plymouth City Council

• John Hunt, Senior Farm Advisor, Westcountry Rivers Trust

This event is free of charge and aimed at everyone from rural and urban communities, including land managers, the farming community, and other interested adults.

Please note accompanying children are welcome but the event is not aimed at them.

Art and Energy will be running 3 water themed workshops at Market Hall, Plymouth on Monday 17th August.

Workshops will include activities linked to mosses, peatlands, water, creativity, maps and Dartmoor. We want to connect you to Dartmoor, the water stored there in the peat and how it connects to the water we rely on in our homes.

These sessions will be free of charge and everyone is welcome to join us.

Water Workshop repeats three times during the day:

Celebrating the brilliance of bogs

Bog Day is celebrated around the world every year on the fourth Sunday in July. This year we'll be celebrating the brilliance of bogs on Sunday 26 July 2026.

This annual event, in celebration of bogs, fens, swamps and marshes, is an opportunity to raise awareness of all peatlands – the benefits they provide, the threats they face and the ways we can all help protect them.
